This review is for players outside Ethiopia: the Ethiopian Lottery Service suspended the licences of all operators.

Checked 25 August 2026: live, busy, and casino-first despite the name. Telebet loaded normally from outside Ethiopia. The jackpot counter was populated and the winners ticker was moving while I watched.

Of everything still standing after December, Telebet was the one that felt busy. Not necessarily trustworthy, but busy, and that difference matters when you are trying to work out whether a platform still has people behind it.

That name is doing work, and you should notice it

Call something Telebet in this country and people hear Telebirr. I doubt that is accidental, and it is the first thing I would want a new player to think about before depositing.

There is no relationship stated anywhere on the site between this operator and Ethio Telecom’s payment service. The page title says what the platform actually is: Play Online Casino. If a name creates an impression of institutional backing that nothing on the page supports, that impression is doing marketing work for free.

About that winners ticker

A ticker across the top named winners as I watched. Someone on 251***151 taking 1,350 ETB off Auto Roulette. 251***596 up 4,080 on Diamond Forever. 251***288 on 1,600 from Master Joker. 251***195 taking 1,990 off Aviator. 251***293 on 12,000 from Gold. Above it, a jackpot counter reading more than 13,500,000 ETB.

Understand first what these widgets are. The operator writes them. They show exactly what the operator wants shown, and a platform with nobody left in it can run a ticker inventing winners indefinitely. This is not evidence anybody was paid, and I did not test a withdrawal.

What the shape of the numbers suggests is something else. 1,350 and 1,990 and 4,080 are the amounts a working floor produces. When these things are fabricated, whoever built them almost always reaches for round figures, because they assumed 50,000 ETB was more persuasive than 1,990. Set that against QwickBirr, where four jackpot meters sat at zero while the banners advertised six million, and Telebet at least looks like a machine with something running through it.

Deposits and withdrawals

The cashier is behind registration, so I could not see which methods Ethiopian users are offered, what the minimum withdrawal is, or how long processing takes. On a site whose name evokes a payment service, that is a particularly unsatisfying gap and I am not going to fill it with guesses.

Context worth holding: the December 2025 revocation directive told financial institutions to freeze transactions tied to the revoked operators and required payment systems connected to betting accounts to be shut off. Whatever route still works inside a betting cashier today is either settling against something other than the label suggests, or not settling at all. Check the beneficiary name on your own statement rather than the brand on the website.

Missing from the page

There is no licence statement anywhere I could find. Nothing acknowledging that every operator licence in the country was revoked on 15 December 2025, and nothing about the regulator confirming on 30 July 2026 that no organisation here holds a legal one.

A new player arriving from a search would learn none of it from this lobby. Silence is not the same as the false claim QwickBirr is still printing in its footer, but on a site this busy it is a choice about who the platform is currently built for.

Verdict

Two and a half out of five. It is alive, it is genuinely active, the jackpot counter shows a real number, and the game library is the deepest still available here. Those are the points in its favour and they are real ones.

Against that: it is a casino trading under a name that sounds like a payment service, it says nothing at all about its own legal position, and I cannot verify that money comes back out. Treat the ticker as decoration and the jackpot as a claim rather than a promise.
